I just got a new graphic card nvidia 8800gt and installed it and it has place for extra power so I hooked it up. At first it worked fine but then all kinds of stuff happened to computer, green kind of lines and everything just quit. I thought maybe it was some programs I recently got so I uninstalled them and it still happened. So finally I removed card (which was real hot) and put old one back in and problem went away.. Does anyone know what happened and why? Also installed new power supply corsair 550 watt..

yrag, thanks for that link. I won't be overclocking mine but I wanted to bump the fan speed up to help it cool. I also like that it displays the temps on my logitech keyboard.

Which logitech keyboard do you have?

I'd assume the G15.

richard, if you bought an ASUS 4850, use their Smart Doctor app to increase the fan's speed to 50 or 60%. at that speed, the fan is still quiet but the card is much cooler. any other manufacturer, you will need to use the trick to create a new profile for your card in order to increase the fan speed. keep in mind, according to most, the card can run at stock fan speed and not be harmed by the heat generated. i talked to Saphire and Powercolor tech people and was told by both to not worry about the card's heat. i didn't tell them i didn't have a card distributed by either of them btw, i'm really hoping you didnt' get one distributed by Powercolor. i am not a fan of their support my old X1950 XT 512 died and i had to jump through hoops with Powercolor to get it replaced. also, the cat 8.8 drivers are out. get them!
